MSU PR students need your help
In August, Starkville Daily News partnered with the Karyn Brown’s PR Organization (Orgs) class at Mississippi State University, in order to have the seniors help SDN garner subscriptions from college students and help current subscribers. PR Orgs is the capstone class for all Communication majors who have a concentration in public relations, so they must pass this class in order to graduate.
At the end of October, SDN’S leadership met with students at MSU to hear from the different groups competing against each other for the best planbook of the semester. One group is working on compiling answers from Starkville Daily’s readers.
The group is asking subscribers to fully submit the 30-question online survey. There are no short answer questions, and most are multiple choice. The survey is for educational purposes only, and they are trying to develop a comprehensive public relations strategic campaign for SDN based on the answers.
The survey will remain anonymous to SDN, and it will help the group out tremendously.
To take the survey, open your camera app on your smartphone and scan the QR code on this article. The survey should open from there.

With the help of this PR class, the hope is to have a media product that has evolved as Starkville has. To keep up with changing times, it is necessary to adapt, but it is especially important in an industry that is as fast-paced as news media.
It is important to SDN that we keep up with the younger crowd while also keeping our traditional paper for our loyal subscribers. The PR Orgs class is aware of this, and they are doing the best to ensure this.
