OSERVS presents 2nd annual Shamrock Ball tonight

After a successful inaugural Shamrock Ball last year, the Oktibbeha-starkville Emergency Response Volunteer Services (OSERVS) is gearing up for the next edition this St. Patrick's Day evening.

Starting at 7:30 p.m., the event will be held at the new venue, the Hill and Moor Conference Center located on 1699 Moor High Road. Attendees will find hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and music by local band Kannawermz and by a bagpipe player.

For 10 years, OSERVS hosted the annual Bully Gras Ball, which provided the funding for the services provided by the organizati­on. After COVID-19 halted the 2021 ball, the OSERVS board voted to make a change and look at hosting a Saint Patrick's Day ball in 2022. Plans came together and attendees responded positively to the new event in 2022, and now OSERVS is gearing up for the second annual event.

“We're extremely excited to have the second annual Shamrock Ball tonight, because last year was such a great success,” said Kayla Gilmore, OSERVS executive director. “We fundraised a great amount of money to be able to fund our projects to help the community. So we're super excited about tonight. We have some really great sponsors, and we're also really excited to have it at the new Hill and Moor Conference Center, which is one of our sponsors as well.”

Gilmore added that she can't wait for what she anticipate­s to be a great crowd this evening.

“We're just extremely excited and very thankful for the OSERVS board that has worked diligently, and we're also thankful for the community and our sponsors, especially Hill and Moor,” said Gilmore. “We also have the Crissey Company, which runs both Brewski's and Rosey Baby, they're going to cater food for us this evening, and we're very thankful to have
