Kettle Falls Basketball Suffers Winless Week
Kettle Falls boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were winless last week. The Bulldogs boys’ lost 47- 34 to Lind-Ritzville- Sprague and 68- 60 to Asotin, while the girls’ lost 58- 50 to LindRitzville- Sprague and 6662 to Asotin. The Kettle Falls boys are 5- 11 overall this season and 2- 9 in NE2B league play and the girls’ are 3- 13 overall and 1- 10 in NE- 2B league play.
On Friday at home against Lind-Ritzville- Sprague ( 105, 6- 4) the Kettle Falls boys fell behind early and trailed 29- 16 at halftime. In the second half the Bulldogs were unable to close the gap and fell by the final score of 4734. Zane Edwards led Kettle Falls with 15 points, while Jayce Kelly had 8 points for the Broncos.
The Kettle Falls girls’ gave Lind-Ritzville- Sprague ( 6- 9, 3- 7) all they could handle in a 68- 50 loss. The Broncos led 15- 13 after the first quarter, but the Bulldogs battled back to lead 28- 25 at halftime. In the second half the Broncos took a one point lead heading into the fourth quarter, and pulled away with an 1811 run in the final minutes to hand Kettle Falls an eight point loss. Ella Johnson had a game high 32 points for the Bulldogs, while Zoe Galbreah had 23 points for the Broncos.
On Saturday Kettle Falls traveled to Asotin where the boys lost 68- 60 and the girls fell 66- 62.
This week Kettle Falls will host Chewelah on Tuesday, Reardan on Friday girls tip off at 6 p. m. boys at 7: 30 p.m. On Saturday they will travel to Davenport, girls tip off at 4: 30 p. m. and boys at 6 p.m.
