- Chris Rader

The Kettle Falls Bulldogs were eliminated from the NE- 2B postseason with a pair of losses last week. A 78- 56 loss to Davenport in the first round set up a 6131 loss to St. George’s that ended the Bulldogs season.

Kettle Falls finished the season 6- 17 overall and 2- 13 in NE- 2B league play.

On Monday at West Valley High School Kettle Falls faced Davenport ( 22- 2, 151) in the first round and the Gorillas jumped out to a 23- 13 first quarter lead and led 40- 22 at halftime. In the second half the Bulldogs found a little bit of offense, but were unable to keep Davenport off the board as the Gorillas eased their way to a 78- 56 win over Kettle Falls. Zane Edwards had 20 points for the Bulldogs and Zane Johnson added 15, while Tennessee Rainwater scored 36 points for Davenport.

The loss sent Kettle Falls to a loser out game on Wednesday at West Valley with St. George’s ( 15- 9, 105) and after a well- played first quarter the Bulldogs seemed to run out of gas and the Dragons dominated the remaining three quarters to earn the 30 point win. Kettle Falls trailed 1814 after the first quarter, but were outscored 43- 17 over the rest of the game by St. George’s. Zane Edwards led the Bulldogs with nine points, while three Dragons’ players scored 12 points each to lead St. George’s to the win.

The Northport girls’ basketball team was also eliminated from the NE- 1B postseason a 54- 29 loss to Wellpinit, and a 46- 29 loss to Republic. The Mustangs finish the season 10- 13 overall and 6- 6 in NE- 1B league play.
