Forest Owners Winter School Being Held At SCC- Colville

WSU Extension and the Department of Natural Resources have teamed up to provide an exciting opportunit­y for forest landowners in Eastern Washington. The Forest Owners Winter School is a day- long seminar scheduled for February 25 at Spokane Community College’s Colville campus.

The seminar aims to educate forest landowners on important topics such as forest health, wildfire prevention, and habitat management for wildlife. Attendees can attend up to six 50- minute presentati­ons presented by experts in their fields. In addition, exhibitors, vendors, and a range of public, private, and non- profit organizati­ons geared toward forest landowners will also attend the event.

The Forest Owners Winter School is an annual event and this year, it is being held in person. Attendees will be able to network with other forest landowners, exhibitors, and experts in the field, creating a community of individual­s dedicated to promoting forest health.

The event is being held in partnershi­p with Washington State University Extension and the Department of Natural Resources. Doors open at 8 a.m., and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can purchase a box lunch for an additional $ 10, but it must be pre- purchased by February 20.
