Crimson Hawks lose to Rogers in season opener

-

On Friday, Colville played Rogers in our first match of the season. The final was a 1- 4 loss however the Crimson Hawks took a lot of good things from that match.

Rogers is a good GSL squad to start the season on. The first half Colville gave up 3 really tough goals but after the Crimson Hawks made a few adjustments at half time we were able to go 1- 1 with them in the second half.

Colville was missing 2 defensive starters for the game that we didn’t expect. For us that meant that we had to move two of our fastest offensive weapons to defense for the match. Colivlle were able to keep the shots close with their eight shots on goal to Rogers 10. We saw some really good stuff out of our young players too. Colville started five freshman in the game that played every minute. Coach Davie Rarrick said “Those young players were dynamic on attack and in defense and we are looking forward to their fast growth early in this season”.

Coach Rarrick is optimistic, “Offensively and defensively, we gained a lot of weapons. They were pretty excited to finally get things going in this game. our older players really got to see some of the support that they have been looking for on the pitch. Our captains: Kaveh Farahmand, Aquiles Neel and Johnathan Reeves were excited for the new guys on the squad.

This week the Crimson Hawks will be busy, first hosting Riverside on Tuesday and traveling to Newport on Thursday for a pair of 4 p.m. games and on Saturday they will travel to Tonasket for a 1: 30 p. m. match.
