Street Rodder - - Street Corner -

In 1948, Ed Iskenderian paid $10 for a 2-inch ad in the second issue of Hot Rod magazine. Seventy years later, Hot Rod, Ed Iskenderian, and Isky Racing Cams are all going strong. Isky: Ed Iskenderian and the History of Hot Rodding, Matt Stone’s 208-page Ed Iskenderian biography, was named 2018 best book of the year by the Motor Press Guild. The book also earned Matt Stone the MPG’s Dean Batchelor Award for Excellence in Automotive Journalism.

The book, published by CarTech, follows Ed’s life from the prewar years as a young hot rodder cruising on the streets of Los Angeles and racing on the dry lakes of the Mojave Desert, until the present day. Isky, now 97, is still an active participant in this hobby and the industry he helped build around it.
