Advanced Plating Hit By Fire

Street Rodder - - Street Corner -

On Saturday, August 25 fire destroyed half of the Advanced Plating facility in Nashville.

The fire completely destroyed the building housing the offices, and the areas for stripping, polishing, plating, and assembly. As this is written, the cause of the fire is unknown. There were no injuries.

The fire department arrived at approximately 1:30 p.m. and was at the scene until the next day. The intense heat and the quantities of hazardous chemicals inside the building made extinguishing the fire difficult. Firefighters used a controlled burn to prevent chemicals from washing into the Cumberland River a couple hundred yards away.

Advanced Plating provides chrome plating and powdercoating services to the hot rod market in addition to other industries. Hundreds of street rodders participate in the annual Advanced Plating Cruise-In held in May.

An earlier post stated, “While it will be a difficult and long road to come back from this, rest assured that we will bounce back, we will rebuild, and we will be back stronger than ever. …”
