Vehicle Speed Sensor

Street Rodder - - EARLY IRON -

Using shielded cable for electronic vehicle speed sensor (VSS) wiring will help keep the signal from being affected by electrical interference. Classic Instruments carries 10-foot sections of shielded wire for your convenience. The SNSW10 has a pair of twisted wires surrounded by foil with a bare drain wire on the outside of the foil. This is all covered in a PVC outer shell.

The bare “drain” wire should be connected to ground on both ends to dissipate the interference that is collected on the foil surrounding the two signal wires.
