OFTEN WRITE ABOUT TIME PROBABLY BECAUSE “BACK TO THE FUTURE” IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE. Speaking of time, 22 years ago this month was the eve of the first Street Trucks magazine, which launched in August 1999. The printing presses were ablaze from the tremendous heat of the very first issue featuring “Big” Mike Kaufman’s Chevy Silverado. I still remember hearing the buzz of the “new” magazine that was about to launch. We drove around for days scouring bookstores for the coveted premier issue, which correctly reinforced “You Gotta Have It” plastered across the cover.
Can it get any more epic than the
Kal Koncepts paint, Colorado Custom Paradox wheels, detailed chassis and countless little touches that earned this truck the honor of our first issue? Let’s not forget the epic Brian Mccormick photo shoot. Luckily for us, OBS trucks are making a strong comeback and we wanted to take a moment to thank those that came before us to start this amazing publication. Here’s to many more successful years of your favorite truck mag.
