Last chance for ag census

Successful Farming - - Q A THE SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW -

Producers have until the end of July to respond online to USDA’s Census of Agriculture, conducted every five years. The census is “the only source of comprehensive agricultural data for every state and county in the nation,” says Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue. USDA got replies from 80% of farmers in 2012, but responses lagged this time; 64% as of mid-June. Results of the 2017 census will be released in February. Institute, the rice contains more beta carotene than conventional rice, to boost production of vitamin A in humans and protect vision. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand also have approved the GMO rice, which faces opposition in some rice-eating Southeast Asia nations.
