Kaya Fest cel­e­bra­tion of Mar­ley, mar­i­juana re­turn­ing to Mi­ami

Ad­vance tick­ets are now avail­able for Kaya Fest, the an­nual cel­e­bra­tion of the cannabis plant that will re­turn to its roots in Mi­ami with per­for­mances by Bob Mar­ley’s sons Ziggy, Stephen, Damian, Ky-Mani and Ju­lian Mar­ley.

The fes­ti­val will take place April 20 at the Bayfront Park Am­phithe­ater. Or­ga­niz­ers say more head­lin­ers will be named; past Kaya Fest per­form­ers in­clude Lau­ryn Hill, Wy­clef Jean, Sean Paul and In­ner Cir­cle.

The early bird gen­er­al­ad­mis­sion tick­ets for Kaya Fest cost $50 through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 20 at LiveNa­tion.com, all Tick­et­mas­ter out­lets and by call­ing 800-745-3000. Reg­u­lar tick­ets (gen­eral admission, re­served, VIP and VIP box ac­com­mo­da­tions) will go on sale 10 a.m. Jan.21.

Kaya Fest is the cre­ation of Stephen Mar­ley, the eight-time Grammy Award­win­ning singer, song­writer, mu­si­cian and pro­ducer, as a way to cel­e­brate the var­i­ous uses of the cannabis plant, from its med­i­cal prop­er­ties to the com­mer­cial ap­pli­ca­tions of hemp.
