Commodores

Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - Showtime - South Broward - - MUSIC -

Critics may say the Commodores’ ship sailed long ago, but the group is still gliding through concert venues across the world. The members of the R&B band met in 1968 as students at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, and although lead singer Lionel Richie has since taken off on his own, the hit library still remains. Those hits include “Easy,” “Three Times a Lady,” “Nightshift” and “Brick House,” and Walter “Clyde” Orange has assumed lead vocal duties. If you go to the show, leave your platform shoes at home. You might turn an ankle. When: 9 p.m. Saturday Where: Casino Miami Jai-Alai, 3500 NW 37th Ave. Cost: Free (VIP packages for $75) Contact: 305-633-6400 or CasinoMiamiJaiAlai.com
