HANDY will host its an­nual golf tour­na­ment fol­lowed by a wine and dine evening. The two-day event, “Kathie’s Clas­sic,” is named in honor ofHANDY’s found­ing chair­woman, Kathie Zier, and cel­e­bratesHANDY’s 28-year legacy.

Take a trip down me­mory lane at the wine din­ner as guests dress in black, white or red cock­tail at­tire themed “Keep­ing It Clas­sic Since 1985.”

HANDY’s 2013 hon­orees in­clude: HANDY Hero, Chad Moss; King of Hearts, Jen Klaassens; Queen of Hearts, LucyWe­ber; Prince Charm­ing, Al Lamberti; HANDY’s Princess, Nikki Jack­son-Ak­ers; and a Kid’s Choice Award to be de­ter­mined byHANDY’s youth, an­nounced at the wine din­ner.

The tour­na­ment will take place at the Fort Laud­erdale Coun­try Club Feb. 28. The wine din­ner, at The Hil­ton Fort Laud­erdale Beach Re­sort, will in­clude wines and fea­tured liquors fromPremier Bev­er­age paired with gourmet menu items for an ele­gant and in­ti­mate evening. The evening will cul­mi­nate with a dessert buf­fet, mu­sic and cigars on the ve­randa over­look­ing the At­lantic Ocean. This evening event will take place March 1, the night af­ter the tour­na­ment.

HANDY is a non­profit with a mis­sion to em­brace, ed­u­cate and em­power vul­ner­a­ble youth to be­come en­gaged, pro­duc­tive adults. Founded in 1985, HANDY has met the needs of more than 45,000 Broward County chil­dren and youths in fos­ter and rel­a­tive/non-rel­a­tive care un­der pro­tec­tive su­per­vi­sion.

HANDY an­nu­ally serves more than 1,300 at-risk chil­dren and youths, up to 23 years old. HANDY’s pro­grams fo­cus on ed­u­ca­tion, youth devel­op­ment and eco­nomic self-suf­fi­ciency.
