No heels necessary: Jack & Jill Children’s Center prepares for flip flops bash
Jack & Jill Children’s Center will host its annual “Flip Flops on the Rooftop” event May 9, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.
Taking place on the rooftop terrace of the beachfront hotel, guests will enjoy ocean views and a sunset while raising funds to support the services provided by the organization. The beach-themed bash will feature live entertainment by Weedline, performances by the Aloha Islanders, raffles, auctions, food and tropical refreshments.
“It’s wonderful to see the outpouring of support from our community each year,” said Maria Meyer, director of development at Jack & Jill Children’s Center. “Fundraisers such as our madly entertaining ‘Flip Flops on the Rooftop’ enable us to continue improving the lives of our center’s children and parents.”
The co-chairwomen for the event are Sally Beach, Patty Hawk, Kerry Kelley, Marisa Olive and Rebecca Baughman Shriner. Presenting sponsor is the Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff and Sitterson law firm.
Auction items include an eight-day Azamara cruise, four-day stay at Atlantis, a Maine cottage get-away, gift baskets with spa services, restaurant certificates and more.
Tickets cost $150. For more information, call 954-463-8772, ext. 218 or visit www.flipflopsrooftop.org.
