American Cancer Society
Doris Italian Market & Bakery recently teamed with the Greater Sunrise Chamber of Commerce to host a “Wine & Food Gala” in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The evening’s attendees helped raise more than $1,600 for the nonprofit.
“Our Wine & Food galas have always been a great opportunity to help raise money for a local nonprofit organization,” said John Alfano, president and CEO of Doris Italian Market & Bakery. “Partnering with the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce allowed us to elevate our influence and increase the money we raised. Cancer has unfortunately impacted so many of us. We are honored to do our part in supporting American Cancer Society’s mission to save millions of lives.” Every year more than 4 million people globally raise funds and awareness to save lives from cancer by participating in “Relay for Life” events. These are the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, each unique and special to its community.
“This is the second consecutive year we’ve worked with Doris Italian Market, and once again it has been a huge success for Relay for Life,” said Kathy Ladwig, of the Greater Sunrise Chamber of Commerce. “Doris’ is one of the most valuable businesses in Sunrise because of the commitment and support to our community and surrounding areas. We’re proud to join forces with them for such a great cause.”
