The Broward Col­lege Foun­da­tion re­cently named Bar­bara S. Wells to its board of di­rec­tors.

Wells, the grand­daugh­ter of phi­lan­thropist Lillian S. Wells and lead trustee of the Lillian S. Wells Foun­da­tion, has fa­cil­i­tated do­na­tions to many non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tions, pri­mar­ily in the realms of the arts, health care, hu­man ser­vices and ed­u­ca­tion, in­clud­ing sig­nif­i­cant gifts to Broward Col­lege.

Un­der Wells’ lead­er­ship, the Wells Foun­da­tion made a $2.5 mil­lion gift last year to fund the Health Sci­ences Sim­u­la­tion Cen­ter at Broward Col­lege’s A. Hugh Adams Cen­tral Campus.

Wells, a Fort Laud­erdale res­i­dent, earned a bach­e­lor’s de­gree from Univer­sity of Ari­zona in Phoenix. She is a mem­ber of the James Madi­son In­sti­tute and the Las Olas Prop­erty Own­ers As­so­ci­a­tion and serves on the Fort Laud­erdale Mu­seum of Art board of di­rec­tors.
