Center doubtful

- Christy Cabrera Chirinos

Shane McDermott unlikely to play vs. USF.

CORAL GABLES— Hurricanes C Shane McDermott was the only player listed as doubtful on Miami’s ACC mandated injury report released Thursday ahead of the 15th- ranked Hurricanes game at USF.

McDermott missed his first start in over a year this past Saturday. According to Miami coach Al Golden, McDermott injured his foot earlier this month in Miami’s 21- 16 win over Florida.

Former American Heritage standout Jared Wheeler played well in his place against Savannah State and will see increased action again this weekend if Mc Dermott is unable to play. One player not listed on the report was QB Stephen

Morris, whohas been nursing an ankle- bone bruise since Saturday. Throughout the week, Golden has said he expects Morris will be ready to play against the Bulls ( 0- 3).

OL Danny Isidora ( foot) and WR Rashawn Scott ( shoulder/ collarbone) were listed as out, and Golden has said they are not expected to return to action until next month.

OL Hunter Knighton is out for the season after shoulder surgery.

When Miami travels to Tampa this weekend, it’ll be a homecoming of sorts for nearly a dozen Hurricanes who call the area home. Among them are junior DE Anthony Chickillo, FB

Maurice Hagens and DL Earl Moore and Tyriq McCord.

Next game: at USF, Saturday at noon, ESPNU
