Women’s retailer open in Plantation
Papaya, a retailer of women’s apparel, footwear, jewelry and other accessories, has opened at the Westfield Broward mall in Plantation.
Papaya has more than 100 stores across the nation.
Westfield Broward is at 8000 W. Broward Blvd.
Japanese restaurant to open on Las Olas
SuViche, a restaurant chain serving Japanese and Peruvian cuisines, is slated to open this summer at 401 E. Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
SuViche’s menu will offer sushi rolls, ceviche, sautéed Peruvian dishes such as saltado — chicken breast, steak or seafood sautéed with red and green onions and tomatoes. It also will have a pisco bar with more than 15 cocktails.
The restaurant is expected to offer indoor and outdoor seating for up to 150 people.
A specific opening date was not available, but operators plan to have it open by the end of June or early July.
Bookstore closing in Fort Lauderdale
Well Read Bookstore & Gallery plans to close for good June 27.
The shop, at 1374 SE 17 St. in Fort Lauderdale, has started clearance sales on books, fixtures, bookcases, signs and artisan work displayed at the store.
Well Read Bookstore & Gallery opened in 2002 and expanded twice — in 2007 and 2011.
Charlotte Russe opens at Galleria mall
Charlotte Russe is now open at the Galleria mall in Fort Lauderdale.
Charlotte Russe carries dresses, tops, jeans and other apparel targeted for teenage girls and women in their 20s. Jewelry, handbags and shoe are also in stock.
The California-based retailer has more than 500 stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
The Fort Lauderdale store is at 2414 E. Sunrise Blvd.
CityPlace adding several restaurants
CityPlace has announced the upcoming opening of several eateries.
Expected to join the lineup at the West Palm Beach shopping, dining and entertainment center are Mexican food and drinks restaurant Cabo Flats; juices and smoothies shop Jamba Juice; burger eatery Burger & Beer Joint; barbecue spot Brother Jimmy’s BBQ; and cheese and sandwich shop Village Gourmet Cheese Shoppe.
Exact opening dates for the restaurants were not available.
CityPlace is at 700 S. Rosemary Ave.
