Types of tributes
“The idea of personalization has resulted in an explosion of unique services that reflect the hobbies, passions and interests of someone who has died,” the National Funeral Directors Association website states. For survivors hoping to memorialize someone’s passing in a unique way, the association suggests asking questions such as these:
What did the person like to do? Consider including items they used or created that reflect his or her activities.
What was the person like as a professional? You might involve people who can speak to his or her impact or achievements.
What was the person like as an individual? Find a setting for the service that can incorporate the person’s interests.
Was the person spiritual? Include symbols of the person’s faith.
