- — Emily Miller

A 45-year-old woman was ejected from an SUV when the vehicle crashed with a car and rolled over in Deerfield Beach.

“She was very lucky she was not killed,” a Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman said shortly after the crash Monday.

The woman was taken to Broward Health North with “considerable injuries,” though none appeared life threatening, spokesman Mike Jachles said.

Deputies investigating the crash told Jachles the SUV was heading east on West Hillsboro Boulevard when its driver attempted to turn onto North Dixie Highway and collided with the car

43-year-old woman who had been traveling in the car was taken to Broward Health North with minor injuries, Jachles said.

A man who had also been in the car was not hurt and remained at the scene.

Investigators closed the intersection and diverted traffic after the 3:30 p.m. crash.
