The man, whose name was not released, was arrested outside the post office in the 8100 block of Via Ancho about 6 p.m. Monday, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.
Authorities recovered the firearm and placed it into evidence.
The sheriff’s office will be handling the aggravated assault with a firearm charges, while the Federal Postal Police will file the federal charges of bringing a firearm into a postal facility, Barbera said.
