Royal Caribbean names president of operations

Royal Caribbean International has promoted Zinan Liu as president of its operations in the China and North Asia Pacific region.

Liu, who joined the Miami-based cruise line in 2009, previously served as managing director for the region.

He has spearheaded Royal Caribbean’s commercial and operational activities in that territory and is credited with significantly growing the brand there, including opening offices in Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. He’s also strengthened the cruise line’s operations in Shanghai.

Liu holds a doctorate in economics from the University of London and serves as chairman of the Cruise Lines International Association, North Asia.
