Cardinals at Marlins

- — Craig Davis

When/where: 7:10 p.m., Marlins Park, Miami On the air TV: FS1 Radio: 940-AM, 1230-AM (West Palm), 710-AM

On the mound RHP Jose Ureña (1-3, 4.18) vs. RHP Carlos Martinez (7-3, 2.80): Urena has allowed two or fewer runs in his past three starts and has gone at least six innings with a 2.55 ERA in four June outings. He will need to continue to impress to stay in the rotation with Jose Fernandez returning soon and Justin Nicolino now in the mix after a superlative debut. The Cardinals continue to develop quality pitchers like nobody else, and Martinez is the latest example. The 23-year-old has transitioned smoothly from the bullpen to the rotation with an electric repertoire, including a devastating slider that should give the Marlins fits. He has a 0.89 ERA in his past six starts, going at least 6 1⁄ innings each time.

Wednesday — RHP Mat Latos (2-4, 5.37) vs. RHP Jaime Garcia (2-3, 1.76); Thursday — RHP Dan Haren (6-4, 3.19) vs. LHP Tyler Lyons (2-0, 5.09).

Upcoming series June 26-28, vs. Dodgers; June 30-July 2, Giants; July 3-5, at Cubs
