Trip was a waste

-

We live in the world’s wealthiest nation. Yet 14.5 percent of U.S. households — nearly 49 million Americans including 15.9 million children — struggle to put food on the table.

Last week, the first lady was in Milan preparing a lentil, barley and rice salad with middle school students at the James Beard American Restaurant. This is the same type of food that most of our students refuse to eat and many schools stopped serving.

The day prior to this she had tea with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace and brought gifts for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The money and time spent on this sojourn might have been better spent in an effort to end hunger here in our own country.
