Yes. Combined with the lack of efficient public transportation, this does nothing but literally “drive” tourism away from Broward County. Cabs in this city notoriously suck — not just to locals but to every repeat visitor to Fort Lauderdale, that I personally know of.

Ashley Michelle Padgett

Don’t leave please! We need it here. No bus, and when we need a cab the waiting time is almost one hour.

Edna M Armini

Yes, I will definitely miss them. Bad move to run them out of town.

Kristina Marie

The taxi driver’s should go right along with them.

Connie Kepke

The taxi cabs are disgusting — we want Uber!

Pedro J Larrea

We need Uber. Our city is a joke!

Lorraine Brennan O’Neil

Having waited on some days for over an hour for a taxi, especially on a weekend, the county needs Uber.

Nikki Cooke

Annemarie DeCouto

We need Uber. Lazaro Fernandez

It’s clear that Uber satisfied a huge user demand. Local officials need to understand that customers want friendly, convenient and cost-effective alternatives to cab drivers. Local citizens need to still apply pressure.

Greg Bromberg

Yes, we need this. Let’s figure it out, please.

Natasha Watkinson

Way to go Broward :eyeroll:

Goodbye Uber.

Rich Kelley

Some reached negotiationswhere it would should’vehave been been a win/ win for everyone.

Ken Loring

Time to use Lyft.

David Scott

Never had a problem with it, unlike the cab companies.

Gunther Schenk

This irritates me. Now we’ll have to pay twice as much to take a regular cab.

Lisa Fisher

Nope. Never used it.

Carl Frodge

Uber helps keep drunken drivers off the road. Dose Broward County support drunken driving?

James Eckert

What a joke. Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties can come up with a solution but Broward can’t. Awful.

Alex Kapetan

No! Do you know Uber to the airport cost me $22. The cab ride back cost us $35. Not happy

Annabel Bird

This is ridiculous, and as a citizen of the county I highly disagree with this decision. Cabs are so expensive in South Florida, and the public transportation system is a joke. Innovative disruption such as Uber is good for the economy.

Amanda Jorgensen

Please keep Uber! Taxis down here are an unacceptable means of transportation.

Lisa Willoughby

Visited Fort Lauderdale earlier this year. Cab ride from airport was $22. Uber ride back to airport was $8. How about let consumers decide what they’d like to use?

Brian Myrick

Much better to have people drink and drive. Great job Broward!

Julie Block Biederman

Use Lyft, same as Uber.

David Deluci

Once again, Broward County demonstrates how backward-thinking they can be. Another example of why other South Florida cities are growing more than Fort Lauderdale.

Phil Cordell

Uber is so much better than cabs; wish it would stay!

Lynn Nichols Mathis

Uber unhappy.

Charlie Monaco

People of Broward need to get taxi industry where it hurts, especially at the airports. They need us more we need them, plus Uber shouldn’t wuss out because the battle has begun as far as I’m concerned. Mercantilism is anti-free market.

Loki Luck III

You can judge the level of corruption in a government by how much they fight innovative entrepreneurs. If it’s not unionized, then there’s no way for kickbacks.

J.T. Grice

Crazy, always backward and upside-down Broward County. Making decisions worthy of 1975, not 2015.

John Timothy O’Connor

You can tell how corrupt a city is by how hard they fight Uber

Shawn Weaver

This is ridiculous! They could have agreed on something reasonable.

Taneshia Mays

Uber 100%. Friendly drivers, cheap rates, always on time. Very clean cars. Excellent service.

Karlitos Way

Very bad news for consumers!
