West Boca Medical Center has just completed a yearlong, $2.5 million renovation of its Birth Care Pavilion.

The 33 patient rooms have been renovated to include recliners, sleep benches for overnight visitors, guest seating and bedside cabinets. All bathrooms have been updated to include spa-like shower heads as well as new flooring and shower tile. The labor and delivery rooms have new baby warmers and bassinets.

Renovations also include the conversion of some of the post-partum rooms into private rooms. The Newborn Nursery and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit also have been renovated.

“The birthing experience is a special time for parents, and we want them to feel like they’re in a safe, family-centered environment,” said Marianne Sevcik, director of maternity services.
