Mike Trout tripled to lead off the ninth and scored on Albert Pujols’ tiebreakin­g single as the Angels edged the Rangers 2-1 on Friday night.

Shin-Soo Choo homered for the Rangers, who were stopped from clinching the AL West.

The Angels were a half-game out of a wild card.
