Bond denied for suspected peeper

- By Tonya Alanez Staff writer

A suspected Pembroke Pines peeping Tom who had a brief court hearing Friday morning will be jailed without bond and must surrender his passport, records show.

Pelayo Alexander Cerulia, 43, turned himself in to police Thursday, two days after five women publicly shared frightening accounts of repeated encounters with a man who peers into their windows and masturbates, shatters windows with marbles slung from a slingshot and even struggled, one time, to push a window open to get inside.

In tandem with the victims’ accounts, police released clear surveillance video and images of the peeper.

Four tipsters helped with Cerulia’s capture, police said.

Cerulia stands accused of harassing 10 women in eight homes more than two dozen times over the past two years, police said.

Cerulia’s lawyer, Robert Pelier, said his client is innocent and is poised to prove it.

Cerulia is being held in the Broward Main Jail on 13 felony charges: eight counts of launching a missile into a dwelling, four counts of aggravated stalking and one count of burglary with assault or battery.
