Foreclosure rates down in South Florida
Foreclosure rates declined across South Florida in October from a year ago, according to data from CoreLogic.
The rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgages in Palm Beach County was 2.03 percent, down from with 3.67 percent in October 2014.
Broward County’s rate was 2.15 percent compared with 4.78 percent, while Miami-Dade’s rate fell to 3.21 percent from 5.02 percent.
Despite the declines, the South Florida counties remained higher than the national average of 1.2 percent.
Higher home prices have helped homeowners regain lost equity, while recent buyers have avoided trouble through stricter lending standards and a boost in employment, analysts say.
