Moaning outside home leads to voyeurism charge

A Coral Springs man is accused of fondling himself while peeping at a woman through a bedroom window and her family says it’s not the first time, police said.

Ian Brett Rosenberg, 37, is charged with voyeurism second or subsequent offense.

He was masturbating while staring through the window of a neighbor’s apartment at a woman who was lying on the bed playing with her cellphone, according to the arrest report filed in the case.

The blinds were closed but one of the horizontal slats did not close all the way and Rosenberg could peak into the bedroom if he crouched down, the report stated.

The woman, who was visiting from Peru, said she heard sexual noises coming from outside the bedroom window about 8:44 p.m. Friday and thought it was another couple having sex next door, police said.

When the moaning got “extremely loud” she got up to look out the window and saw Rosenberg standing at the window, investigators said.

The woman, who was wearing a T-shirt and loose pants, said she was scared but did not scream, the report stated.

She woke up her aunt and cousin to report the voyeurism and their response was, “Again?” police said.

They went outside and confronted Rosenberg and asked why he was looking through their window and he said he was just walking to his car, before getting in and driving away, investigators said.

The residents told police they recognized Rosenberg as a neighbor who lived in the 3500 block of Northwest 104th Avenue. He was arrested later that night.

They said Rosenberg peered through their windows about 2 a.m. a week after Thanksgiving and again about 1:50 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, but they didn’t report either incident, the report stated.

Investigators say they found an “unknown dried substance, possibly semen,” on the wall under the bedroom window. It was being processed as potential evidence, police said.

Rosenberg was on probation for a previous conviction for voyeurism and prowling in Dania Beach in 2014 and was arrested for voyeurism in Aventura in 2012, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

At his initial court appearance Sunday for the latest charge, bond was set at $8,000.
