IN THE BAG: USF has three solid early enrollees in offensive tackle Glen Bethel, defensive end LaDarrius Jackson and athlete Trevon Sands. The Bulls also have strong commitments from elite four-star prospects in receiver Darnell Solomon and defensive back Craig Watts. And perhaps most important, USF will get a big, unusual recruiting boost froma slew of high-profile transfers who sat out last season and will be eligible in 2016. The group includes former Winter Park standout and UCLA transfer quarterback Asiantii Woulard, linebacker Cecil Cherry, safety Austin Hudson and receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

UP FOR GRABS: The Bulls aren’t in the mix for a lot of signing day recruits, so the biggest win would be hanging onto both their four-star commitments.

OVERALL OUTLOOK: Few thought USF coach Willie Taggart would make it to this point, with many projecting hewould be fired last season. The Bulls rallied, earning a Miami Beach Bowl bid. Taggart was in the mix for a other coaching jobs and locked down a contract extension, adding considerable positive momentum to his recruiting class.

ELSEWHERE: In South Florida, FIU coach Ron Turner is counting on developing some under-the-radar talent to help the program continue making strides. The Panthers locked in North Eastern Oklahoma A&M defensive end Newton Salisbury as an early enrollee who can help add depth to the defensive line. FIU has commitments from six three-star prospects, including standout cornerback Jadarius Byrd from Jacksonville.
