IMPACT PLAYERS

■ Jack Allison, QB, 6-5, 200, Parrish/Palmetto High: The Hurricanes’ quarterback of the future, Allison is likely to redshirt behind Brad Kaaya and Malik Rosier next season, but he’s widely regarded to have a strong arm and has the size coaches crave.

■ Sam Bruce, WR, 5-8, 180, Fort Lauderdale/St. Thomas Aquinas: A four-star prospect, Bruce should make an impact almost immediately at a position of need for the Hurricanes, who lose veterans Rashawn Scott and Herb Waters.

■ Joe Jackson, DE, 6-5, 245, Homestead/Gulliver Prep: Miami’s defensive front has long been one of the team’s most scrutinized units, but Jackson is a solid addition. He’s rated the eighth-best weakside defensive end in the nation and is a four-star prospect. Had six sacks as a senior.

■ Shaq Quarterman, LB, 6-1, 239, Orange Park/Oakleaf High: A U.S. Army All-American and big hitter, Quarterman is one of three early linebacker enrollees. He was rated a top-10 inside linebacker by every major recruiting service, including ESPN, which had him No. 3 at his position.

■ Ahm mon Richards, WR, 6-1, 171, Wellington/Wellington High: Another four-star prospect and U.S. Army All-American, Richards also fills that immediate need for the Hurricanes. Had more than 1,275 receiving yards as a senior and was the Sun Sentinel Palm Beach County Class 8A-7A-6 A Player of the Year.
