Man, 53, charged with molesting girl for 5 years

A 53-year-old man is in jail, accused of sexually assaulting a child for about five years.

BenitoMoncada-Gonzalez, who lives in unincorporated Browardwest of Fort Lauderdale, faces charges of sexual battery and assault of a minor and lewd and lascivious behavior and molestation. He is being held without bond in Broward’sMain Jail.

According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office report, Moncada-Gonzalez molested and performed oral sex on an underage girl between 2007 and 2013. The accuser told detectives that the inappropriate touching and sexual acts happened repeatedly during those years.

Upon his arrest oWednesday, Moncada-Gonzalez confessed to touching the accuser’s private parts, but denied performing oral sex on her.—
