Sunrise’s Mednax’s revenue increases 14 percent in 2015

National medical group Mednax reported revenue of $2.78 billion in 2015, up14 percent from$2.44 billion the year before.

Net income was $336.3 million, or $3.58 a share, compared with $317.3 million, or $3.18 a share, in 2014.

Mednax, which is headquarte­red in Sunrise, acquired a total of 10 physician group practices, including seven anesthesio­logy practices, two neonatolog­y practices, and one other pediatric subspecial­ty practice. The company also acquired teleradiol­ogy service firm vRad and a receivable­s company.

In total, Mednax spent $850 million for acquisitio­ns in 2015, the company’s highest annual level to date.

For the fourth quarter, Mednax’s revenues increased to $742 million, 14 percent over the same quarter in 2014. Net income increased1­3 percent to $92.7 million.
