Palm Beach County is home to one other girls basketball team playing in a state final four this week: Boca Raton in Class 8A. For Broward, three teams are set for state semifinals at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland: Cardinal Gibbons, Northeast and South Broward. Here’s a rundown of this week’s action:

CLASS 4A

Cardinal Gibbons (22-4) at Lake Highland Prep (27-3) When/where: p.m. today

Scouting report: Cardinal Gibbons marks its first state finals apperance in 16 years. The Chiefs starting five have played together for two seasons and will need to lean on veteran leadership to advance to the championsh­ip round. Standout sophomore guard Deja Antoine was the leading scorer for Cardinal Gibbons this season. Lake Highland Prep is the defending 4A State Champions.

CLASS 6A

Northeast (19-7) at Orlando Edgewater (22-5) When/where: 4 p.m., Friday

Scouting report: Northeast defeated top teams, Dillard and Miami Norland, in Class 6A to advance to the state finals for the first time in school history. The Hurricanes feature scoring threats Ta’Kyla Austin, Ashley Saintigene and Cabria Lee; all have had game-high scoring totals this post season. Orlando Edgewater won three consecutiv­e state titles from 2012-2014, before missing the tournament last season.

CLASS 7A

South Broward (28-6) atWinter Haven (24-3) When/where: noon Friday,

Scouting report: South Broward won the BCAA Big 8 title in late January and have been on a roll ever since. The Bulldogs, who operate a smothering zone defense, look for scoring threats Alexis McClain, Natalia Leaks and Shante Walker to have a strong game. Winter Haven has advanced to the state finals six of the last seven seasons.

CLASS 8A

Boca Raton (28-6) at Seminole (25-3) When/where: 6 p.m. Friday

Scouting report: For the second consecutiv­e year, Boca Raton advances to the state finals. Junior forward Rachel Levy had a game high 20 points in the regional final and will look to use her 6-foot-3 height advantage for continued success. Seminole failed to reach the state finals after losing in the opening round of the 2013-14 tournament.
