Extreme fun with Keith Urban
Grab tickets to his country “RipCORD” tour.
Charming but quiet “American Idol” judge Keith Urban will be making plenty of noise this summer when he brings his “RipCORD” tour to Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre.
Tickets for the Australian country star’s June18 stop in West Palm Beach will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday via LiveNation.com andKeithUrban.net and will cost $25-$59.75. (Presale tickets, available to fan club members on Urban’s website, went on sale Tuesdaymorning at 10 a.m.)
Urban’s visit is in support of his imminent eighth album, “RipCORD,” out May 6, a star-studded collection of nostalgia-leaning popcountry with contributions by Nile Rodgers (guitar on “Sun Don’t Let Me Down”). That banjo-driven love track also benefits froman unlikely contributor, Miami rapper Pitbull, who lends a “mischievous, sexy swagger” with his rap verse, he told Rolling Stone in an interview this month.
On Tuesday, Urban released “Wasted Time,” his third single from the new album, a nostalgic, up-tempo pop meditation on the singer’s younger years. Perhaps in defiance of the single’s title, Urban will waste little time when he performs the song Thursday night on “American Idol.”
Urban will begin the “RipCORD” tour June 2, with Nashville’s Brett Eldredge and rising pop-folk singer Maren Morris opening for him on the road. The tour will wrap Nov. 19.
