Brunch and happy hour are nowlonger at 50 Ocean.
This 4-year-old stylish sibling, upstairs fromthe oceanfront landmark Boston’s on the Beach, has extended brunch from Sundays to Saturdays, from10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Our customers have given our renowned Grey Goose BloodyMary bar and Sunday brunch rave reviews and a packed house sincewe launched it on Sundays in 2012,” general managerMark DeAtley says. “Sowe decided to make it a weekend mainstay.”
Newselections are sweet potato hummus with five-spice crème fraîche ($10), Wahoo Tonnato Italian-style fish spread ($15), Sweet ’N Spicy Crab saffron-mascarpone spread ($17) and Breakfast Sammich with IPA-braised chipotle buffalo sausage and scrambled local eggs ($18).
“Wewanted dishes thatwere lighter, butwere flavorful and ample, as our diners have come to expect made-fromscratch cuisine,” Executive Chef Blake Malatesta says.
The BloodyMary bar features 30 ingredients to build your own drink ($12 or $15 for unlimited).
Weekday happy hour has been extended by an hour from3 to 7 p.m., aswell as onweekends from 3 to 6 p.m. House wines, domestic beers andwell drinks are half price, plus appetizers are discounted onweekdays, such as ceviche ($8) and shrimp pot pie ($10).
