Wheels and deals when cars go up for auction

Coveted cars are coming to Fort Lauderdale.

The14th annual Auctions America will begin Friday at the Broward County/Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, offering more than 450 collector cars up for auction. The auction’s last day will be Sunday.

American classics, European sports cars, hot rods and muscle cars are expected to be showcased before a live audience and also available for online and phone bidders. Among this year’s featured rides: A1948 Tucker 48— one of 51 made, expected to go for up to $1.25 million

A1981BMWM1— being sold by its first and only owner, driven for just 13,500 kilometers, estimated to sell for $500,000 to $600,000

A1965 ShelbyGT 350 Fastback — inWimbledo­n white with dark blue stripes and original engine, expected to go for up to $450,000

Auctions America says it’s also partnering­with the Boys& Girls Clubs of Broward County to offer 100 percent of proceeds from sale of a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Restomod.
