Yankees: Alex Rodriguez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right hamstring. The injury occurred Tuesday night while Rodriguez was running out a grounder in the fifth inning of a loss to the Orioles. The 40-year-old Rodriguez, who is on the disabled list for the seventh time in the last nine seasons, is batting .194 in 20 games. The Yankees recalled LHP James Pazoa from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Cubs: Anthony Rizzo had three hits in the Cubs’ 6-2 win over the Pirates and completed the three-game series sweep with seven hits, including five doubles and a home run. Rizzo, who also scored three runs in the final game, is hitting .442 with nine doubles and nine RBIs in his last 13 regular-season games at Pittsburgh.

Mets: Steven Matz allowed two hits over 72⁄3 innings in his latest stellar start, and Lucas Duda hit two home runs as the Mets beat the Braves 8-0 to win their sixth consecutiv­e series, their most since 2006. Matz has a 0.67 ERA over his last four outings. Angels: Mike Trout had an RBI triple and sparked a four-run eighth inning with a solo homer as the Angels avoided a three game sweep by beating the Brewers 7-3. Trout, a four-time All-Star, has 18 RBIs in his last 13 games after starting the season

Mariners: Dae-Ho Lee hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh in his first multihomer game, and the Mariners rallied for a 9-8 win over the Athletics that completed their first series sweep of 2016. The Mariners had a season-high 16 hits and improved to an American Leaguebest 11-4 on the road.

Rockies: Tyler Chatwood pitched three-hit ball for eight innings in his sixth start since returning from Tommy John surgery and Jake McGee threw a perfect ninth for his seventh save as the Rockies beat the Padres 2-0. The shutout was the eighth suffered by the Padres in 28 games this season.
