TALLAHASSEE—Jimbo Fisher knew the US F football teamwas “fixin’ ” to be good after facing the Bulls in 2015.

After an early three-game losing skid, starting with FSU’s 34-14 win over USF in the second week of the season, the Bulls regrouped to win seven of their last nine games and finish second in the East Division of the Athletic American Conference last season.

Behind quarter back Quinton Flowers and running back Mar lon Mack, US F has started 2016 with three consecutive blowout victories and will host No. 13 FSU(2-1) on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium.

Fisher praised USF’s st rides under coach Willie Tag ga rt, nowin his fourth season at the helm.

“I think they understand the scheme more,” Fisher said. “Guys have been in it, playing more, more consistency. They're being really consistent in how they're executing.”

USF’s spread offense puts Flowers and Mack in positions similar to Louisville’s offense with Heisman Trophy candidate Lamar Jackson and running back Brandon Ratcliff.

Flowers leads the Bulls with 716 yards passing and seven touchdowns, while being third on the team in rushing with 165 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. Mack has173 yards rushing and three touchdowns. “I expect an extremely competitive game, both ways,” said Fisher, who hopes to see many FSU fans in attendance.

“They are definitely scoring a lot of points, are very competitive and doing a great job. We're going to have our hands full, there's no doubt.”

Next game: No. 13 FSU at USF, Noon Saturday, ABC
