A suggestion on how to fundTrump’swall
Congress should float a bond offering to raise the $20 billion or so that will be needed to build the wall. These bonds will be of the “revenue anticipation” type, that is, to be repaid from future revenue generated by the funded project. In the case of the president’swall, the anticipated revenue will come from Mexico, exactly as the president promised.
The bonds will be retired as Mexico remits the money. The organizations that rate bonds will certainly rate the bonds very highly given that the president himself has given his assurances thatMexico will pay for the wall. This will give the investors the confidence they need to purchase these bonds. Thus, I expect that these bonds will be fully subscribed even at the low interest rates such highly-rated bonds command. Problem solved. surely with the prognosis for the health care bill, the projected economics from it, the budget and his views on the climate, America will need for him to remember the pope. There is no caring for the poor— or evenordinaryAmericans or for our environment — in Republican economic policies. So we have to pray that the visit with the pope and the Saudi and Israeli leaders on this trip have made an impact on our president’s views.
Again, Donald Trump continues to be a popular president among his base, and many prayers continue to be liftedupfor him. Balancing Israel’s interests and our relations with Iran and all the nations of the Middle East, and finding a solution in the Middle East makes those prayers much needed.
May the powerful image of our president at Jerusalem’s Western Wall, his friendliness with Saudi leaders and his cordial conversation and faith connection with the pope cause minds to be changed favorably toward him.
