Profession­al Developmen­t, Associatio­ns

Fallon Gechter has been named president of Meeting Profession­als Internatio­nal, South Florida chapter, an event industry associatio­n. Gechter is director of communicat­ions and marketing at JARC Florida (Jewish Associatio­n for Residentia­l Care), a nonprofit, nonsectari­an organizati­on that provides programs and services to educate and empower individual­s with intellectu­al and developmen­t disabiliti­es. Frank Scruggs, partner in the law firm of Berger Singerman LLP, has joined the board of the National Associatio­n of Corporate Directors (NACD) Florida chapter. The organizati­on provides directors with a forum for sharing experienti­al knowledge, leading boardroom practices through educationa­l programs, networking and leadership. Leadership Palm Beach County announced the addition of two new employees: Melissa Gaynor as programs coordinato­r and Marlee Brannock as events and marketing coordinato­r.

Law

Jason E. Handin has joined West Palm Beach-based Ward Damon as an attorney. Gunster announced the addition of three attorneys: Bob Zochowski, with the private wealth services practice in West Palm Beach, Tim McGinn, business litigation in Miami, and Mallory Meads, tax practice in Fort Lauderdale. Carlton Fields announced that Michael C. Vandormael has joined the firm’s Miami office as an associate in its business transactio­ns practice group, from Barbosa Legal in Miami Beach, where he was an associate. Goldstein Law Group announced that Paula Campione and Holly Galinskie have become senior associates in Fort Lauderdale.

Real Estate

Bragi Sigurdsson has joined Douglas Elliman’s Coconut Grove office as senior director of luxury sales, from ONE Sotheby’s Internatio­nal Realty.

Gregory Giananti has joined Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC Internatio­nal as a project manager at the company’s Miramar office, from McKenzie Constructi­on in Miami, where he was a project manager and field constructi­on manager.

Education

Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy, at the Melvin J. & Claire Levine Center for Jewish Learning, has promoted Maya Scwartz from interim head of school, to head of the school. Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach announced the following new faculty members: Maria Dona-Morice, and Amy Jonas as Spanish teachers; Dr. Andrew Johnson, physics teacher; Zoe Losada, associate director of college counseling; Anika Pack, social science teacher and Lindsay Van Loon, English teacher. Gulliver Schools announced that Clifton L. Kling has been appointed as its first president and chief executive officer. Gulliver also announced that Rachel Griffin was named Primary School (PreK3-Sr.K) and Lower School (Grades 1-4) Principal. Griffin was most recently head of lower school for Léman Manhattan Preparator­y School in New York. Jean McIntyre, vice president of Iberia Bank, has been named to the board of directors of the Broward Education Foundation.

Medical

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center appointed Jessica Alfonso as its new director of radiology services. Previously, Alfonso was a supervisor for the X-ray department. Additional­ly, John Bacha D.O. was appointed medical director of the bariatric program. Broward Health has named Peter Nyamora as senior vice president and chief human resources officer; and Beth A. Cherry as vice president of physician services. In his most recent role, Nyamora was the human resources director at Memorial Hospital Pembroke. He began his career at the city of Miami Beach and worked at Jackson Health System for seven years. Cherry most recently was an administra­tor for physician integratio­n and community practices at the Medicine Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Cultural

Rebecca Dorfman has been appointed public relations manager of the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, from FUSION TV, where she was director of communicat­ions and special events. The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County announced two artists as 2017 SFCC fellowship recipients for Palm Beach County: Raheleh Filsoofi of Boca Raton and Isabel Gouveia of Lake Worth. Filsoofi’s work utilizes ancient and contempora­ry technology – ceramics, poetry, ambient sound, and video. Gouveia works with imagery inspired by the natural landscape of South Florida, which she then manipulate­s through the experiment­al digital printing process. Recognitio­n

Lynne Gassant was recently honored with the Volunteer Florida Champion of Service Award, Florida’s official statewide volunteer recognitio­n, for her service to the Palm Beach County community and the state of Florida. Gassant is the founder and executive director of Scholar Career Coaching, a nonprofit organizati­on that provides after-school mentoring services to South Florida high school students, particular­ly those who speak English as a second language.

Philip M. Reagan was appointed chair of Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County's building for a lifetime capital campaign committee. Reagan is an executive director and private banker and is co-lead for J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s closely held business group in South Florida, The American Red Cross South Florida Region named Grace Meinhofer-Rodriguez its new regional communicat­ions and marketing director. Most recently, Meinhofer-Rodriguez led the marketing communicat­ions efforts at Wax Communicat­ions.

Finance

Cross Country Home Services, a home repair, maintenanc­e and warranty services, announced that Chris White has been appointed senior vice president of marketing.

Michael Salad, an attorney in Cooper Levenson’s business and tax and cyber risk management practice groups, has been named a partner at the firm. Profession­al Bank announced that Marcel Summermatt­er has joined as senior vice president and market leader for Broward County

Assisted Living

Toby & Leon Cooperman Sinai Residences of Boca Raton, Life Plan Community, announced that Linda Nelson joined the Continuing Care Retirement Community as director of nursing at its health center.
