Q: I drive from Southwest 10th Street in Deerfield Beach to Congress Avenue in Boca Raton. I never see over for using the HOV lanes during the rushhour time period and there is a lot of highway constructi­on going on in several areas. Is this just not being patrolled because of the constructi­on? — Diane Micocci, Deerfield Beach.

A: HOV lanes are not being enforced in north Broward County or in parts of south Palm Beach County, said Andi Pacini with the Florida Department of Transporta­tion.

“[Diamond] pavement markings and HOV signage within active constructi­on zones have been removed,” she said. “HOV is not being enforced within the 95 Express or Spanish River Boulevard interchang­e project limits.”

The Florida Highway Patrol is not ticketing drivers using the left lanes between Commercial Boulevard and Southwest 10th Street, or between Glades Road and Congress Avenue, according to Sgt. Mark Wysocky.

Some overhead HOV signs are still posted near the Palmetto Park Road, Glades Road and Congress Avenue exits on Interstate 95. HOV diamond lane markers remain on the pavement in some of those carpool lanes.

The last of the HOV lanes in Broward disappeare­d a year ago.

Eventually, these HOV lanes will be converted to express lanes.

Q: Motorists who turn east from A1A to Galt Ocean Drive on Northeast 35th, 36th and 37th streets encounter high, jarring bumps that never existed before the two-year improvemen­t project. When will the project be done and are there plans to correct these problems? — Jack J. Friedman, Fort Lauderdale.
