Palm Beach Top 10 football teams
As we hit the midpoint of the season, one thing is clear in Palm Beach County: Oxbridge Academy is by far the top team, and everyone is jockeying for second. Spots 2-10 are incredibly fluid, as there’s not much that separates those teams, so there likely will be more change throughout the season.
1. (1) OXBRIDGE ACADEMY (3-1)
The ThunderWolves continued their dominance on Thursday night, blanking Glades Central 31-0. Oxbridge Academy’s strong rushing attack racked up 227 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

2. (4) PAHOKEE (2-1)
The Blue Devils defense was lights out on Friday as the team shut out Boynton Beach 28-0. The big test will come Friday when Palm Beach Gardens comes to Anquan Boldin Stadium.

3. (7) SEMINOLE RIDGE (5-0)
After winning just four games last year, the Hawks improved to 5-0 after topping Palm Beach Gardens 21-18 in overtime. Ridge has a tough defense and balanced offense, making them a playoff threat come November.

4. (6) PALM BEACH CENTRAL (3-2)
The Broncos picked up a pair of 8A wins this past week, topping Boca Raton 26-14 and rival Wellington 34-20. The offense has scored at least 26 points in the past three games.

5. (2) ATLANTIC (3-1)
The Eagles notched their third consecutive win after topping Spanish River 29-6.

6. (NR) OLYMPIC HEIGHTS (3-1)
The Lions are the talk of the county after upsetting Dwyer 25-22 on Thursday. There was no let down for Heights, as the team then topped district rival West Boca on Monday night. Next: at Vero Beach
7. (10) AMERICAN HERITAGE-DELRAY (3-2)
The Stallions, who beat Pensacola Catholic 27-20 last week, have won three in a row after dropping their first two games.

8. (3) DWYER (3-2)
The Panthers are in a bit of a rut after its upset loss to Olympic Heights. On Monday, Dwyer’s offense struggled in a 7-0 win over Palm Beach Lakes.

9. (5) PALM BEACH GARDENS (3-2)
The Gators are only a couple of plays away from being 5-0, but they failed to make them in narrow losses to Dwyer and Seminole Ridge. If they get all the pieces together, they’ll be tough to stop. Next: at Pahokee
10. (NR) CARDINAL NEWMAN (4-0)
The Crusaders have quietly been dominant in the early portion of the season. Behind its powerful rushing attack, Cardinal Newman dispatched St. John Paul II 56-0 on Friday. Next: vs. Suncoast
