Saints rally late to extend streak to 8

The Saints extended their winning streak to eight with an unlikely comeback, erasing a 15-point deficit inside the final six minutes and kicking a short field goal in overtime to defeat the Redskins 34-31 Sunday inNew Orleans.

Mark Ingram capped a 131-yard rushing day with gains of 20 and 31 yards on back-to-back carries in overtime to set up Wil Lutz’s winning 28-yard kick.

The Saints set up their final drive by stopping Samaje Perine on thirdand-1 at the two-minute warning when a first down would have allowed the Redskins to run out the clock. Giants 12, Chiefs 9: Roger Lewis Jr. made a spectacula­r catch while flat on his back to set up the winning 23-yard FG by Aldrick Rosas in OT to help the Giants snap a threegame losing streak. Vikings 24, Rams 7: LataviusMu­rray rushed for 95 yards and two TDs, Adam Thielen turned a short catch into a 65-yard score and the Vikingswon their sixth straight. Ravens 23, Packers 0: The Ravens forced five turnovers to earn their third shutout of the season. They last accomplish­ed the featwhen the Ray Lewis-led defense had four shutouts for the Super Bowl-winning team in 2000. Jaguars 19, Browns 7: Blake Bortles threw a TD pass and LB Telvin Smith recovered a fumble for a TD with 1:14 left as the Jags won their fourth straight and moved into sole possession of first in theAFCSout­h. Bengals 20, Broncos 17: Andy Dalton threwthree­TDpasses in the Bengals’ first win in Denver since 1975, when franchise founder Paul Brownwas their coach. Texans 31, Cardinals 21: D’Onta Foreman ran for 65 yards and two fourth-quarter TDs before suffering an ankle injury as the Texans snapped a three-game skid. Chargers 54, Bills 34: Casey Haywardmad­etwo of the Chargers’ five INTs during a horrific first half by Bills rookie QB Nathan Peterman. Korey Toomer returned Peterman’s first INT 59 yards for a TD on the Bills’ opening drive. Peterman threw two more INTs in the first quarter and two additional picks in the second. He was pulled from his first start with a 37-7 halftime deficit after just 14 pass attempts. Lions 27, Bears 24: Matthew Stafford threw for 299 yards and two TDs, and Matt Prater kicked a 52-yard FG with 1:35 remaining. The Lions escaped with their third straight win when the Bears’ Connor Barth was wide right on a 46-yarder in the closing seconds. Buccaneers 30, Dolphins 20: Ryan Fitzpatric­k threw for 275 yards and two TDs, Patrick Murray kicked a 35-yard FG with 4 seconds left and the Bucs snapped a six-game road slide by topping the Dolphins. Patriots 33, Raiders 8: Tom Brady felt right at home by throwing for 339 yards and three TDs in his first game inMexico City. Eagles at Cowboys: The Eagles, with the best record in the league, tried to avenge the OT loss they suffered the last time they played at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys tried to prove they can win without RB Ezekiel Elliott (suspension) and LB Sean Lee (hamstring).
