$45M compound up for auction

- By Jennifer Boehm Staff writer

Stretched across more than seven acres of land in Vero Beach, this French Mediterranean-styled estate will sell to the highest bidder on Dec. 13 through Concierge Auctions, a real estate auction company.

For buyers with the financial means and a strong desire to leave behind South Florida’s dense urban areas, Florida’s Treasure Coast has become a haven for those looking to enjoy quieter beaches and shop in a less crowded atmosphere. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the estimated population of Vero Beach last year stood at 16,751.

The compound, listed at $45 million, is comprised of a 22,189-square-foot main house, two guesthouses and a caretaker’s cottage. There are 18 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms.

The home is listed with Clark French, Richard Boga and Cindy O’Dare of Premier Estate Properties as part of Concierge Auctions’ December portfolio sale.

The main house boasts a movie theater, game room, climate-controlled wine room and a library. There are also dual master suites that offer sitting rooms, fire places, coffee bar and hisand-her dressing rooms.

Additional details include a vaulted entry foyer; handmade mahogany windows and doors; arched loggias on every level; cypress-beamed cathedral ceilings; Moorish arches; and walnut and limestone floors.

Outside features include a pool with slides and a grotto, outdoor kitchen, cabanas, fountains and gardens and beautiful oak and palm trees. There are five air-conditioned garages with space for 10 cars.

“The home was built in 2015 and the family that built it never really moved in,” said Katie Lawless, Project Sales Manager at Concierge Auctions. “They made a business decision to sell the home in a competitive auction process.”

Lawless explained the owners originally owned the adjacent residence just to the north of the property, loved it but needed more space.

“They hired the same team of builders, architects and designers and created a larger estate,”said Lawless.

The auction takes place starting at 4 p.m. on Dec. 13 and will conclude at 6 p.m. the following day.

According to Concierge Auctions’ website the projected opening bid for the home is expected to be between $10 million and $20 million.
