Wednesday’s game: Dan Straily, slated to pitch the second game of the regular season, was the first Marlins pitcher to complete five innings this spring, blanking the Mets on four hits in a 5-1 victory. He struck out three and walked one while lowering his spring ERA to 1.29. He had to work around a leadoff double followed by a walk in the second inning, but otherwise, “Everything went as planned today,” he said. “It’s nice to have outings where everything seems to work and they just seem to miss-hit a lot of stuff.” Straily said a primary objective has been to avoid three-ball counts. He has done so to all but three hitters in 14 innings this spring, and he has issued only two walks while striking out 10 . ... OF Derek Dietrich got the Marlins started with a two-run single off LHP Steven Matz, who needed 30 pitches in the first inning. Dietrich, who bats left, hit .307 off lefties last season, compared with .232 off righties. Dietrich and Starlin Castro had two hits and are both batting .333.
