Recruits hope to be college teammates

University School has a pair of blue-chip 2019 recruits on its football team, and they’ve made it no secret that they could see themselves playing together in college.

Both running back Kenny McIntosh and safety Josh Sanguinetti, two four-star prospects according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, still feel that way in the spring before their senior seasons.

As to where that could be: “Keep that on the low right now. You’ll see,” Sanguinetti says.

One possibility sure seems to be Miami. Both have been on campus multiple times for unofficial visits recently.

“I love the Hurricanes, especially with my brother having been there already making an example for my last name,” said McIntosh, whose older brother RJ McIntosh was drafted by the New York Giants on Saturday. “Miami — home team, [offensive coordinator Thomas] Brown, coach [Mark] Richt, they talk to me 24-7 throughout the day, throughout the week. They’re always showing love.”

McIntosh is trying to take another visit to Coral Gables soon while also trying to get out to Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Stanford. It’s an ambitious travel list, but he plans to find dates throughout the summer to check out all those schools.

McIntosh said he may commit during the summer, if he makes it out to all the schools.

RJ McIntosh, a defensive tackle, was drafted after three seasons at UM. The family also has a middle brother, Deon McIntosh, playing running back at Notre Dame.

Sanguinetti has also west, visiting Stanford

“At Stanford, I took a tour around the campus and they talked to me about academics and stuff like that, playing early,” Sanguinetti said. “The same thing with UM. I sat in a meeting with them, and they were telling me how bad they need DBs in 2019 and that I’m a priority for them.”

Sanguinetti is also looking to visit Florida, Oklahoma, FSU, Michigan and Ohio State.

While McIntosh is hoping been out in February. to possibly knock out a decision in the summer, Sanguinetti feels his recruitment will come down to National Signing Day next February.

McIntosh said it’s not just him and Sanguinetti, but he’s hoping wherever they go they can also bring wide receiver Zay Flowers, a three-star prospect, with them.

Flowers currently has Syracuse, Appalachian State, Boston College, Cincinnati and Maryland among his top choices.
