SWIMMING: U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte was suspended by USADA until July 2019, which means the 12-time Olympic medalist cannot compete in the national championsh­ips, which begin this week. Lochte did not take a banned substance, but he got an intravenou­s injection of vitamins, a method typically banned under anti-doping rules. “A rule is a rule, and I accept that there is a technical violation,” Lochte said.
